Do you allow dogs?

Unfortunately dogs are not allowed inside the restaurant or in the garden due to access.

Do you cater for Children?

We do not offer a Children’s menu but are able to make some dishes smaller.

Two highchairs are available.

Do you offer gift vouchers?

We do, please pop in to purchase. Alternatively these can be posted if you are not local.

Wednesday – Saturday: 4pm – 10pm
Wood-fired Wednesdays for pizza. Full dinner menu Thursday-Saturday.
Closed on Sunday, Monday & Tuesday.

After my recent review when we just went for drinks, this time we decided to have a meal. As you may already know, they do not take bookings which make us a bit nervous so walked in about 7.15 Sat night. There were a few tables occupied but our favourite seat in the window was free so after being met at the door and politely told to sit where you would like, we did. I suppose this is one advantage of not having tables booked ? however, by 8 pm most tables inside we taken, so come early. Well, we decided to share the muscles and we both agreed that ………. Wait for it…….. probably the best we have ever had, simple as that ! The super fresh local muscles came from just across the water at Appledore and were plump and sweet. The sauce was not too creamy and well flavoured plus superb samphire. For mains I had a large thick portion of Hake in a tasty and very light batter , with homemade tartare sauce and chips. My wife had Sea Bream, caught locally which was cooked with care and presented on top of crushed potatoes and lightly charred vegetable, delicious ! The portion size was spot on as we couldn’t have eaten another bite. We chose a bottle of Argentinian red wine which was smooth and more importantly, the right temperature. The kitchen is on open view which we like. It was notable how much care was being taken with each dish before it was served. Any negatives ? Would be great to be able to book and see the special dishes online. Needs some sound deadening as was quite loud and could not hear the background music but these are just small points and did not in any way spoil our enjoyment. We highly recommend Bamboo and will certainly be returning. Graham and Sandy 👍

Fabulous evening! A bit wary as we were travelling specially to visit and they didn't take bookings but well worth the risk! All 4 ordered different dishes and all loved them, Wine was great, cocktails were great, service was great, atmosphere was great, may have just found a new haunt!

Tucked away from the busy main road. Just had a really good lunch in the pretty courtyard garden. The local salmon roll delicious, as was the Lebanese bread pork wrap. Friendly staff. We will be back!

Some of the best food and service I’ve experienced for a long time. The staff were delightful and the mussels were beyond glorious. You’re missing a trick if you don’t stop off here and you’re in the area.

Had a fabulous evening last night, a very warm welcome again, a beautiful seat in the sunshine for the evening, wonderful cocktails and what fabulous food cooked by Ash the chef, just stunning. Amazing friendly and attentive service by James and the team. Thank you for a wonderful evening, we will definitely be returning. Great new place to drink and eat in the sunshine with friendly service and beautiful food.

Delicious seafood dishes, other than that (in my opinion) too many burgers! but there's no doubt these guys and girls know what they are doing, so who am I to comment. Winter dishes may be more "meaty" It's a vibrant atmosphere mix of high tables with stools and the "normal" . When they first opened I was told they had so many no shows they don't take bookings. The chef/owner is passionate about good fresh produce and the team waiting on tables know their stuff and work very hard. Good selection of local ales and ciders too. Well done Bambu!

I come here a lot, as I I my live next door, but every time I come it's amazing. Friendly staff very very welcoming. Don't even get me started on the sea food. It's so good to eat locally caught seafood at a good price!! I come here with my girlfriends kids and it's really good for the children too. They loved it. X

Really nice space with a garden for nicer days and the food was excellent. I had the full Bambu breakfast and everything was great, but i have to emphasise the mushrooms of all things in particular. I'm not a huge fan of mushrooms typically but they were amazing. All in all will be visiting again

We stopped here for a late breakfast and it was fantastic! The Bambi breakfast was delicious and the smashed avocado with feta and tomatoes was unbelievably good. They started the lunch menu whilst we were there and it looked great too, we will have to come back and try it.

Dropped in for breakfast as we were in the area and truly glad we did. Very polite and friendly staff make for a great start to your day. The quality of the food is outstanding and a perfect portion size, too. Have to say the sausages were by far the best I've had in ages, plus the bacon was immense too. LOVED IT

The food was superb - the best we've had in Braunton in a long time (forever?); we had the seafood linguine & the squid and both were amazing. The squid was incredible with an Asian spice feel. The mussels with the creamy sauce was divine. For mains we had the catch of the day a beautiful piece of sea trout cooked to perfection with creamy mash and charred greens, and the Mrs had a Cataplana… this was Portuguese inspired and recommended by the head front of house, wow wow local Squid, mussels, monkfish prawns and Scallops, served in a beautiful sauce, what more could you ask for. Great addition to braunton. Lovely to see how busy it was on a Thursday in January.

The service was friendly and welcoming and there was a good choice of gin, beers and wine. What exceeded my expectations was the food, I had the chilli squid for starter followed by catch of the day (Dover Sole). Both courses were excellent and I would argue that this was the best meal that I had anywhere during our entire holiday. We did return again just for some drinks later on in our holiday and again really enjoyed it - the service was fab. We will definitely be back next time we holiday in Braunton, as the atmosphere was lovely and we really enjoyed it.

My husband and I went for dinner here and managed to get a table without booking ahead on a Friday night in October, which was lucky for us as it definitely got busier as the night went on. The service was friendly and welcoming and there was a good choice of gin, beers and wine. What exceeded my expectations was the food, I had the chilli squid for starter followed by catch of the day (Dover Sole). The chef/owner is passionate about good fresh produce and the team waiting on tables know their stuff and work very hard. Good selection of local ales and ciders too. Well done Bambu!

We stopped here for a late breakfast and it was fantastic! The Bambi breakfast was delicious and the smashed avocado with feta and tomatoes was unbelievably good. They started the lunch menu whilst we were there and it looked great too, we will have to come back and try it.

I originally came for breakfast which was amazing. Everthing is locally sourced and really enjoyed the homemade baked beans. The flat white is the best coffee ever. I was too full to eat again until evening when l chose lighter options having squid to start, will a nice kick of chilli and ginger spiced mayo. I then had mussels which were the best ever, local from Appledore. They completely filled the shells and were plump and tasty. The sauce was also lovely with lots of fresh samphire. All in all an excellent evening meal, made even better with good quality wine and the best mojito l have ever had. It was very busy which also added to the atmosphere and the staff were all attentive and friendly. Will be returning when back in Devon.

Our first visit to Bambu, which has been recommended highly by many friends in the village, and it was still better than expectations. The food was superb - the best we've had in Braunton in a long time (forever?); we had the seafood linguine & the squid and both were amazing. The staff were super attentive, knew every detail about the menu (which looked like it was very focused on supporting local businesses), and were all very smiley & friendly. We treated ourselves to cocktails (might have been a week night but was also an anniversary!) and they were excellent too! Definitely a new favourite!

After my recent review when we just went for drinks, this time we decided to have a meal. As you may already know, they do not take bookings which make us a bit nervous so walked in about 7.15 Sat night. There were a few tables occupied but our favourite seat in the window was free so after being met at the door and politely told to sit where you would like, we did. I suppose this is one advantage of not having tables booked ? however, by 8 pm most tables inside we taken, so come early. Well, we decided to share the muscles and we both agreed that ………. Wait for it…….. probably the best we have ever had, simple as that ! The super fresh local muscles came from just across the water at Appledore and were plump and sweet. The sauce was not too creamy and well flavoured plus superb samphire. For mains I had a large thick portion of Hake in a tasty and very light batter , with homemade tartare sauce and chips. My wife had Sea Bream, caught locally which was cooked with care and presented on top of crushed potatoes and lightly charred vegetable, delicious ! The portion size was spot on as we couldn’t have eaten another bite. We chose a bottle of Argentinian red wine which was smooth and more importantly, the right temperature. The kitchen is on open view which we like. It was notable how much care was being taken with each dish before it was served. Any negatives ? Would be great to be able to book and see the special dishes online. Needs some sound deadening as was quite loud and could not hear the background music but these are just small points and did not in any way spoil our enjoyment. We highly recommend Bamboo and will certainly be returning. Graham and Sandy 👍

Visited Bambu for breakfast with work and they were very accommodating from start to finish! Made it very easy to book, the menu was great and offered a great selection of food and drink for all dietary requirements. Staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was nice and relaxed even in the face of a large group descending on them first thing in the morning. Really nice space with a garden for nicer days and the food was excellent. I had the full Bambu breakfast and everything was great, but i have to emphasise the mushrooms of all things in particular. I'm not a huge fan of mushrooms typically but they were amazing. All in all will be visiting again

Atmosphere great, food amazing- fresh and full of flavour, sound deadening needed to make atmosphere perfect but as we understand it is in hand. Calamari starter slightly rubbery, but still very tasty and this pales in to insignificance on the overall experience. wonderful over all experience. Cocktails sublime, the best espresso martini to be had (and I have tried more than a few) !!

Amazing friendly and attentive service by James and the team. Thank you for a wonderful evening, we will definitely be returning.
